Bellanca Decathlon

In the wake of the Bellanca Scout, the the Long Island Classics Design Team brings us another FANTASTIC airplane. The Bellanca Super Decathlon. This airplane is hands down my favorite and most flown aircraft in FSX.

The cockpit is very much like the Scout but it has some noticeable differences. For starters the Garmin autopilot is ditched for more aerobatic related instruments . The regular steam gauge style attitude indicator is replaced with a aerobatic one very similar to the one found in the default Extra.

Once of my favorite aspects of this airplane are the 4 repaints. You have a choice as to a classic "starburst" theme or you can go with one a little more "custom." My only regret is the lack of a smoke system. There is a switch on the overhead panel in the VC, but it does nothing. There are three effects you have to copy over into the "effects" folder so maybe one of more of them didn't copy correctly. Regardless, this is an easy fix because of the many add-ons that allow you to add smoke to ANY aircraft.

This aircraft description says it is fully spinable. I have yet to try it out but I have done some hammerheads, avalanches, cuban eight's, attempted knife edge, snap rolls, and inverted flight. If you are looking for a aerobatic airplane that also is a good Sunday flier, this is your machine.
